What’s on board the DFDS ferry
The ferry has three restaurants and cafes, plus four bars: the Navigators Pub with live music, the Sky Bar with sea views, the Columbus Club for dancing, and the Compass Bar as a quieter lounge. There is also an onboard cinema, a soft play area, a kids’ club, and live entertainment throughout the crossing.
Duty-free shopping is available on board, with discounts of up to 50% off high street prices.
What to do during your five hours in Amsterdam
You will have around five hours in central Amsterdam. The Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum are both near Vondelpark and within walking distance of the coach drop-off. The Anne Frank House is a short walk from the canal belt and worth booking timed entry online in advance.
If museums are not the priority, the Jordaan neighbourhood is good for wandering the canals and there are plenty of cafes serving Dutch pancakes and stroopwafels. The Waterlooplein flea market is worth a look too. Five hours goes quickly, so pick one or two things rather than trying to do too much.
