c2c has London to Southend Off-Peak returns for £15 this summer, less than two £11.30 off-peak singles to Shoeburyness.
That is a decent little school-holiday win if you want a seaside day out before the end of August. Kids aged five to 15 can go for £2, and non-London c2c journeys to Southend are capped at £10 return too.
The main booking detail is that you need to buy ahead. c2c says the Off-Peak Summer Advance tickets are valid for travel until 31 August, can be bought until 30 August, and must be purchased at least one day before travel. Railcards, GroupSave and c2c’s 1/3 Off Saver do not stack with this fare.
