Hand luggage questions, answered

What is the free hand luggage allowance on UK airlines?

Every major UK airline lets you bring one small underseat bag free, though the size varies. Ryanair allows 40 x 30 x 20 cm, easyJet 45 x 36 x 20 cm and British Airways 40 x 30 x 15 cm plus a cabin bag.

Which airlines give you a free overhead cabin bag?

Jet2, British Airways and TUI include a larger overhead cabin bag for every passenger at no extra cost. Ryanair and Wizz Air charge for theirs through Priority.

Do any airlines include a checked bag in the basic fare?

Most budget fares do not. British Airways, KLM and Norwegian include a checked bag on their mid and higher fares, while Jet2 and TUI include one on package holidays.

What size bag fits under an airplane seat?

Underseat limits range from about 40 x 30 x 15 cm to 45 x 36 x 20 cm. Use the checker above to confirm your airline’s exact size.
