Bangkok from £611 return is the sort of fare that makes a proper Thailand trip feel much easier to justify, especially when the cheapest Thai Airways direct fares we found are sitting around £1,011.
We found the £611 fare on Air France for Heathrow to Bangkok, travelling 20 August to 17 September. KLM is showing the same route family from £611 for Bangkok in late summer, so this looks like an Air France-KLM fare rather than a one-off oddity.
The best bit is the timing. The outbound is still in August, when long-haul fares can be stubbornly expensive, and the return lands in September, which is often kinder on price once the school-holiday rush starts to fade.
This is not a nonstop fare, so you’ll change in Paris or Amsterdam depending on which Air France-KLM option you choose. That’s the trade-off, but at roughly £400 less than the Thai Airways direct fare floor, it’s a very fair one if you don’t mind a connection.
Best fit: travellers who want Thailand for late summer or early September and would rather save the money than pay for the nonstop. If you’re going for a short trip, check the connection times carefully before booking, because Bangkok is far enough away that a clumsy layover can make the journey feel much longer.
