Tenerife emerges as surprise summer value pick in Flight Tribe holiday check

One of the UK’s favourite holiday destinations is pricing below Majorca, the Algarve and Rhodes, while Antalya offers the strongest value for flexible sunseekers.

Tenerife has emerged as a surprise summer-value pick in a new Flight Tribe holiday check, with one of the UK’s favourite destinations currently pricing below Majorca, the Algarve, Costa Blanca and Rhodes despite wider concern about fuel costs and rising holiday prices.

The UK travel deals site checked 237 summer 2026 week-long holiday price points across some of the country’s biggest holiday sellers. Tenerife averaged £510pp, compared with £590pp for Majorca, £630pp for the Algarve, £646pp for Costa Blanca and £708pp for Rhodes.

That makes Tenerife 14% cheaper than Majorca, 19% cheaper than the Algarve, 21% cheaper than Costa Blanca and 28% cheaper than Rhodes.

Antalya / Turkish Riviera was cheaper still, averaging £493pp. Holidaymakers looking for the best current sunshine value may find better prices beyond the familiar Spanish favourites.

Key findings

  • Tenerife averaged £510pp, beating Majorca, the Algarve, Costa Blanca and Rhodes.
  • Antalya / Turkish Riviera had the lowest average price at £493pp.
  • Rhodes was the most expensive destination in the comparison at £708pp.
  • Antalya Area was the cheapest package area in the whole check, averaging £453pp.
  • Stansted cheapest for Tenerife and Majorca. Gatwick cheapest for the Algarve and Costa Blanca.

‘Tenerife is a real surprise. One of the UK’s favourite destinations is currently great value for peak summer visits. That’s not what we expected to find, especially with rising fuel costs pushing travel costs ever higher.

‘The wider lesson is that Spain is not the only place to look. Antalya shows there is excellent value for anyone willing to look outside the traditional Spanish favourites of UK holidaymakers, while still enjoying a fantastic time away.’

Tenerife and Antalya will not be cheapest for every traveller, but the figures show why holidaymakers should compare across destinations before booking. Majorca remains a strong mainstream option, but it was not the lowest-priced familiar favourite in this check. Rhodes sat at the top end of the comparison, averaging 39% more than Tenerife.

The Algarve showed a mixed picture, with some lower prices but an average above Tenerife, Antalya and Majorca. Departure airport also mattered, with the cheapest airport changing by destination.

Flight Tribe will repeat the checks as summer 2026 prices develop.

Methodology

Flight Tribe checked summer 2026 package-holiday prices on 24 May 2026. The sample covered UK outbound package holidays for two adults, one room and seven nights across easyJet Holidays, TUI and Jet2holidays, using 237 usable price points. The figures are an early price-panel snapshot, not a checkout audit or whole-market study, and Flight Tribe does not claim these are the cheapest holidays available in the UK market.
