Where’s hot in November from the UK? The Canary Islands average about 22 degrees and Marrakech about 23 by day, while Egypt’s Red Sea resorts and Dubai reach 28 to 29. The Gambia, a six-hour flight, reaches 34, and Barbados 29, though the Atlantic hurricane season doesn’t officially close until 30 November.

Canary Islands
Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote all average about 22 degrees at this time of year, with little rain, and no winter sun this close to the UK has more direct flights. Tenerife has the most choice, from the resorts of Costa Adeje to Mount Teide, Spain’s highest peak.
Gran Canaria adds the Maspalomas dunes in the south and a proper city in Las Palmas. Lanzarote looks different from the others, with black lava fields from 18th-century eruptions and buildings by the artist César Manrique.

Marrakech, Morocco
Marrakech in November is warm by day, at about 23 degrees, and cold after dark, when the average low falls to about 11. Pack a jacket for rooftop dinners. The city is calmer than in spring, which makes the souks and Jemaa el-Fna easier to get round.
Majorelle Garden, with its cobalt-blue villa, the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs are each worth a morning. Cooking classes are easier to book than in the busy months.
British Airways, easyJet, Jet2, TUI, Wizz Air and Ryanair fly to Marrakech from London, and there are direct flights from Manchester too. The flight takes about three and a half hours. Egypt: Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh
This is the month the Red Sea resorts turn from too hot to very good. Summer days in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh often pass 38 degrees; by November the average is about 28, and the sea is still around 26, warm enough for diving and snorkelling.
Hurghada has more hotels and is the base for day trips to Luxor. Sharm el-Sheikh has the better diving, with Ras Mohammed National Park and the SS Thistlegorm wreck within reach.
easyJet flies to both resorts from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester, and Wizz Air from Luton and, for Sharm, Gatwick. Jet2’s Egypt flights don’t start until February 2027. A visa on arrival costs US$30 in cash, according to GOV.UK, but fly into Sharm for under 15 days, staying within Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba, and you get a free entry stamp instead.
Dubai
November is when Dubai becomes comfortable outdoors again. Days average about 29 degrees, evenings about 22, and the sea at Jumeirah is around 27. The beach clubs and rooftop bars that sit idle in the summer heat are busy again.
Away from the malls, the Creek, Deira’s spice and gold souks and the wind towers of Al Fahidi show the older city. The Dubai Frame, 150 metres tall, looks over old and new Dubai at once.
Emirates flies direct from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and other UK airports in about seven hours, and British Airways resumes Heathrow flights on 3 November. UK passport holders get a free visit visa on arrival for up to 90 days in any 180. GOV.UK warns of possible flight cancellations and airspace closures after strikes across the region since July, so check before you book and again before you fly.
