Is Kos expensive? Seven nights for two at a Kos Town hotel cost £181 on Expedia. Seven nights at an all-inclusive in Tigaki cost £2,178. This guide prices both, with the airline fares, the entry rules and Greece’s hotel climate resilience fee, which we could not confirm is included in Expedia’s prices.

How to keep Kos costs down
Three things move the bill: when you go, which hotel type you book and what the room price includes.
| Do this | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Pick your month by weather, then price it | Jet2’s weather page puts the average daily high at 29°C in July and August, 26°C in September and 22°C in October. We priced only one week, so check prices for your own dates. |
| Pick the hotel type before the town | Kos Town ran from £141 to £945 for the week in our October searches, and Tigaki from £194 to £2,178. The two all-inclusives we found cost £1,653 and £2,178. |
| Check the star rating before you book | Greece’s climate resilience fee runs from €2 a night in a 1 or 2-star hotel to €15 in a 5-star between April and October. |
| Add the meals before you compare | Utopia Blu is all-inclusive. Seven dinners at Jet2’s £55.50 benchmark come to about £389, which takes the £181 room to about £570. |
"Don’t compare a hotel room price with an all-inclusive one. On our dates the Tigaki all-inclusive cost twelve times the Kos Town room. Add seven dinners to the room and it’s under four to one."

The three cheapest hotels in our searches cost £141, £181 and £194 for the week.
Visa and entry rules for UK travellers
Greece is in the Schengen area. Every day you spend on Kos counts against your 90-day allowance.

| Schengen days | GOV.UK says visits to Schengen countries in the previous 180 days count towards your 90. |

| Passport validity | Expires at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave the Schengen area. |
| EES biometric check | The EU’s Entry/Exit System began on 12 October 2025. GOV.UK says Greek authorities have indicated they won’t collect biometric data from UK travellers under it. That is a stated position, so follow the officer’s instructions on the day. |

What the Asklepion costs
The Greek Ministry of Culture publishes a ticket price for the Asklepion. We did not price beaches, sunbeds or boat trips.
| Attraction | Ticket | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|
| Asklepion of Kos | €8 | The ministry lists €8 for the museum and archaeological site together. Summer hours, 1 April to 31 October: 08:00 to 18:30. |
| 3-day pass | €15 | Covers the Archaeological Museum, the Sanctuary of Asclepios and the Casa Romana. |
| Free entry days | Free | 6 March, 18 April, 18 May, the last weekend of September, 28 October, and the first Sunday of each month from November to March. |
| Beaches, sunbeds and boat trips | Not priced | We did not check these for this guide. |

The Ministry lists free entry on the last weekend of September and on 28 October.
From November to March, the first Sunday of each month is free too.
Where to stay in Kos
All three were priced on 2 October 2026 for the same two people on the same October week. The gap between the budget and the top pick is twelve to one.
| Tier | Property | 7 nights | Why it is here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | Bristol Hotel & Apartments, Kos Town | £181, or £26 a night | Rated 7.6 out of 10 across 75 reviews. Expedia lists a balcony, a kitchenette and air conditioning. The cheaper Kos Bay Hotel (£141) is rated 6.2. |
| Mid | Alexandra Hotel, Kos Town | £481, or £69 a night | 4-star on Expedia, rated 8.8 out of 10 across 417 reviews, with a bar, room service and a fully refundable rate. |
| Top end | Utopia Blu, Tigaki | £2,178, or £311 a night | 4-star all-inclusive, rated 9.4 out of 10 across 34 reviews, with an Italian restaurant and a bar. Expedia lists a previous price of £3,086. |
Utopia Blu is all-inclusive and Bristol Hotel & Apartments is listed with a kitchenette, so the two aren’t the same product. That is likely part of why the gap is so wide.
Where to eat and drink in Kos
We did not verify restaurant menu prices. Jet2 publishes two everyday benchmarks on its Kos page, and this section sticks to those.
| What | Price | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Beer | £3.80 | Jet2’s Kos destination page. |
| Three-course meal for two | £55.50 | Jet2’s Kos destination page. |
What a week in Kos costs
Three one-week trips for two adults on our October dates, one for each hotel we priced. Flights use the lowest one-way October fare we found, from Birmingham, Liverpool or Manchester, not a fare for the 17 to 24 October room dates. It is counted for two people, each way. Euro amounts are not converted.
| Line | Budget Bristol | Mid Alexandra | All-inclusive Utopia Blu |
|---|---|---|---|
| Room, 7 nights, two adults | £181 | £481 | £2,178 |
| Return flights, two adults, in total | about £116 | about £116 | about £116 |
| Dinners for two, seven nights | about £389 | about £389 | Included |
| Asklepion, two tickets | €16 | €16 | €16 |
| Total | about £686 plus €16 | about £986 plus €16 | about £2,294 plus €16 |
Best time to visit Kos
Jet2’s weather page for Kos shows a peak of 29°C in July and August.
| Month | Average daily high | Note |
|---|---|---|
| February | 12°C | The lowest of the year on Jet2’s chart. |
| May | 23°C | Up 5°C on April. |
| July | 29°C | Joint warmest month. GOV.UK flags high wildfire risk from April to October. |
| September | 26°C | 3°C below July and August. |
| October | 22°C | 7°C below July and August. The month we priced hotels. |
So, is Kos expensive?
Mid-range on our numbers, and the hotel decides the bill. Our Rhodes guide calls Rhodes the dearer island. On our October room dates, a Kos week for two came to about £686 at the cheap end, £986 in the middle and £2,294 all-inclusive, with the lowest flight fare we found and dinners at our estimate.
The all-inclusive cost about £1,600 more than the cheap room plus seven dinners out. Book it only if you would have eaten and drunk that much anyway.
What we would do: price a Kos Town room-only stay first, add dinners yourself, then compare that total with the all-inclusive for the same dates. Pick your month by the weather, and check the star rating for the Greek fee.

Jet2’s monthly highs run 23°C in May, 27°C in June, 29°C in both July and August, 26°C in September and 22°C in October.
Pick the month first, then price the hotel for those dates.
Frequently asked questions

Is Kos in the EU and the Schengen area?
Yes. Greece is in the EU and the Schengen area, uses the euro, and every day you spend on Kos counts towards your 90-day Schengen allowance.
Do UK travellers need a visa for Kos?
No, not for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, per GOV.UK. Your passport must be less than 10 years old on arrival and have at least 3 months left after you plan to leave the Schengen area.

Jet2 lists eleven airports and easyJet six, including Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. Ryanair’s page shows London Stansted. TUI’s page does not list its UK airports.
Will I be asked for biometrics at the Kos border?
Possibly not. GOV.UK’s Greece page says Greek authorities have indicated they won’t collect biometric data from UK travellers under the Entry/Exit System. That is a stated position, so follow the officer’s instructions.
What is Greece’s climate resilience fee?
A per-night charge on hotel stays, set by star rating. Between April and October it runs from €2 in a 1 or 2-star hotel to €15 in a 5-star, and a 4-star is €10. We could not confirm whether Expedia’s prices include it.
What is the cheapest month to go to Kos?
