Jet2 liquid rules at security depend on the airport you fly from, not the airline. Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Bournemouth and Belfast International now let you carry containers of up to 2 litres. At Manchester, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Glasgow, Liverpool, Luton, Stansted and Newcastle it’s still 100ml per container.

Liquid limits at each UK airport Jet2 flies from
Jet2’s security FAQ still gives the old rule for everyone. It says containers must hold 100ml or less, in one transparent, re-sealable bag of no more than a litre, about 20cm x 20cm, with one bag per person shown at security. It also recommends packing liquids in your hold bag where you can. Jet2 flies from 14 UK airports, and we checked each one’s own security page against that rule.

Birmingham puts no limit on how many 2-litre containers you bring, and Glasgow says the same about 100ml ones.
The flight home is where the 100ml rule catches you
The 2-litre allowance only covers the airport you leave from. Bournemouth’s own security page warns that many airports haven’t installed the new scanners yet, so you may still need a clear plastic bag for the return flight.
- Pack for the stricter of your two airports.
- If you’ve paid for a hold bag, keep full-size bottles in it for both flights. Jet2’s 500ml cap on aerosols still applies there.
- Put one clear re-sealable bag in your cabin bag, even if you didn’t need it on the way out.
GOV.UK says the liquids rules have changed at some UK airports and tells you to check with the airport before you travel. It also says you can’t usually carry frozen items, such as ice packs or frozen liquids, in hand luggage.
Alcohol, baby milk and food
- Spirits between 24% and 70% ABV must be in their original retail packaging, with no more than 5 litres per person. Jet2 bans anything over 70%.
- The only alcohol you can drink on a Jet2 flight is what you buy on board. Duty free bought at the airport doesn’t count.
- GOV.UK allows enough baby food, baby milk and sterilised water for the journey when you’re travelling with a baby.
- Breast milk is allowed in hand luggage even without a baby, in containers of up to 2,000ml, but not frozen.
- Leeds Bradford’s security page lists soup, jam, honey and syrup as liquids, so the 100ml limit applies to them at any 100ml airport.
Power banks, vapes and aerosols on Jet2
These rules come from Jet2’s restricted items page and apply on every Jet2 flight, whatever the airport.
- Power banks: two per person, each rated no more than 160Wh, in your hand luggage only. You can’t charge them or use them to charge anything on board, and Jet2 forbids any power bank whose watt-hour rating isn’t clearly stated or easy to work out.
- Vapes and e-cigarettes: hand luggage only, battery no more than 160Wh, and no recharging on board. Using one on the plane is banned.
- Lighters: one small lighter, carried on you. GOV.UK says it should sit inside a re-sealable plastic bag.
- Hairspray, perfume, aftershave and other aerosols: no more than 500ml each and 2 litres per person, with caps on aerosol valves. Jet2 recommends packing them in the hold, and in hand luggage they must also meet your airport’s liquid limit.
Knives, scissors and razors: UK security is stricter
Jet2’s list of items banned from hand luggage includes knives and scissors with blades over 6cm, and razor blades. UK airport security is tighter on knives. GOV.UK says knives can’t go in hand luggage, so a small penknife belongs in a checked bag. It does allow scissors with blades of 6cm or less, and disposable razors, in hand luggage.
Getting through security in time
Pack to your departure airport’s limit at home, with anything bigger already in your hold bag, so nothing gets binned at the tray. At a 100ml airport the limit is the size of the container, so a half-empty 200ml tube still fails. Decant into 100ml travel bottles before you leave rather than hoping security lets a nearly empty tube through.

Is Manchester still 100ml for Jet2 flights?
Yes. Each container must still be 100ml or less at Manchester, but you no longer need a plastic bag.
Can I take breast milk over 100ml on a Jet2 flight?
Yes. GOV.UK allows breast milk in hand luggage in containers of up to 2,000ml, even if you’re not travelling with a baby, as long as it isn’t frozen.
Can I use a power bank on a Jet2 flight?
